Jan Davies McDermott is The Woman’s Advantage® Chair in Michigan with forums in Ann Arbor and Grand Rapids. Jan is president of Echo Enterprises, LLC and is a State Certified Professional Small Business Consultant trained though the Academy of Professional Small Business Consultants at Grand Valley State University. She has been recognized as an advocate for women in business, having received many national and state recognitions, including the ATHENA Award, the Women Business Owners of Southeastern Michigan Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Zonta Woman of Distinction Award.

For more than 30 years, Jan has impacted, inspired and empowered thousands of women entrepreneurs. Jan has served as a consultant for the Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Centers. She has taught business and marketing classes at Schoolcraft College, Oakland University, Eastern Michigan University, and the Downriver Community Conference.

Jan is a Certified Professional Facilitator, having completed training in the Peter Drucker Five Question™ Method, the Edward Lowe Peerspectives™ Method, and the Kauffman Foundation FastTrac™ Program. She was one of the founding members and the long-time president of the Women Business Owners of Southeastern Michigan and the founding chapter chair of the Southeastern Michigan Women Presidents’ Organization.
