Janis Pettit is The Woman’s Advantage® Chair for Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina.

She is the Founder and CEO of The 10X Zone and is a best-selling author, speaker, and serial entrepreneur.

Janis has built 4 businesses from start-up to success.  Since 2002 she’s helped hundreds of women entrepreneurs, small company CEO’s, experts and consultants worldwide to build a bold, lucrative business that makes an impact and adds thousands in revenues.

Janis made her unexpected show business debut on the Merv Griffin show at the tender age of 16. After completing her Master’s Degree, she worked as a professional performer on the New York stage, on TV and in touring companies. That’s where she learned the hard way about marketing and standing out in a highly competitive environment.  But feeling called to follow in the family tradition of entrepreneurship; she eventually started a corporate consulting business in New York City offering public speaking and communications skills training. That was 32 years ago, and she never looked back.

Her second business was a highly acclaimed New York restaurant which she built into a million dollar business, and ended up featured in The Business Journal and The New York Times for creative marketing strategies. She also hosted her own cable TV business talk show during this time, interviewing movers and shakers in the business, theater and arts community. That resulted in many celebrity and high profile customers, which taught her the power of visibility and the media to build your business.

Seeking a better climate and a better environment to raise her daughter, she moved with her family to Raleigh in 1998. Business #3 was a small publishing business, which she franchised and sold so she could return to consulting. Finally in 2002 she founded The 10X Zone.

Janis was named one of “50 Women of Achievement under 50” by the Business Journal. She has served on the boards of Westchester Women Business Owners and Chix in Business, and chaired a huge charity event in New York for Share Our Strength, raising thousands of dollars for hunger relief.

Her recently released book is The Client Multiplier Method. She has made numerous TV, and public speaking appearances, and can be heard as a guest on many podcasts.
