MaryAnne Gucciardi, the mother of a soccer-playing teen girl, got the idea for Dragonwing girlgear after sideline conversations with other parents who shared her frustration at the lack of quality athletic apparel for their daughters. The only clothing was made for little kids or grown women or, worst of all, for boys.
An experienced entrepreneur, she saw the need for sports clothing that would give girls the proper fit, support, and confidence they needed.
The company’s mission is to empower girls to play – and be – their best by providing superior fitting, high quality, age-appropriate clothing that gives them the freedom to move and play with confidence. Instead of being distracted by clothes that don’t fit right or worrying about their changing bodies, they can enjoy playing and competing.
