Your circumstances and surroundings may impact your happiness, but the bottom line is that you have a lot of control over your day-to-day happiness.
Here are five things that you may be doing that dampen your spirit.
1. Blaming Other People or Circumstances.
When you blame others for something negative that’s happening in your life, you are admitting that you are not in control, which can make you feel miserable.
Talking about things you perceive to be negative requires that you think about them. And the more time you focus on negative things, the more unhappy you become.
3. Spending Time with Negative People.
Do you let others blow second-hand smoke in your face? Then why do you let negative people blow negative thoughts in your direction?
4. Focusing on Fear.
Whenever you are afraid of something, ask yourself the question, “What’s the worst that can happen?” If you can live with that then bounce that particular fear out of your life.
5. Collecting “Stuff” to Gain Happiness.
Material things won’t make you happy. And they aren’t important to the kind of people you should be aiming to impress. Spend your time and money on people and experiences, not more stuff.
