  • Five Ways to Stand Out from the Crowd

By Mary Cantando0 Comments

Given a choice, people will generally want to spend time with and do business with people who make them feel good, are fun to be around, and are just plain interesting—in short, those who stand out from the crowd. This comes very naturally to some, but others may have to think a little more to make it happen.

Here are five ways you can stand out from the crowd to benefit both yourself and your business.

Five Ways to Stand Out from the Crowd

1. When you meet someone smile and look them in the eye.

This may be Common Sense 101, but the best way to build rapport is by eye contact.

2. Show that you’re enjoying your conversation.

Don't let your eyes roam around the room looking for someone more interesting.

3. Show a genuine interest in others.

Be curious about what they do and where they’ve been.

4. Really Listen.

This is the only way you can truly connect with the other person.

5. Speak their language.

Use their communication style. For “cut-to-the-chase” individuals, just provide the facts. For those who love a good story, give them one.

Five Beliefs That Will Take You Far in Life

I’ve often been referred to as a “Pollyanna” because I really believe that no matter what you’ve got going on in your life, you can make it truly great. I’m not saying that it is easy to make it great, but if you make that decision and are willing to work on the changes required, I believe that anyone can have a great life.

Here are five concepts that can move you in that direction.
